This is a good upgrade from a dash with no console. You can also get a motorized version. This is the non-motorized version, and lets you choose your own custom car pc or display (nav, phone, etc) option. Or, use it to store things: map, money, cell phone, etc. The finish is slightly rougher than the OEM dash finish and a slightly lighter color shade, but it is a close match and actually looks good with this difference. I used Meguiars Gold Class Leather Conditioner Spray to condition the material and remove smudges. Due to the flat finish of the console, this really was needed. Overall, a good upgrade!

- Installation tips
There was a small fin-shaped tab on the bottom, on one side that I had to trim off to get it to fit in thee console of my 2006 RX-8 GT. Don't know why it was there, but a quick removal, and it fit great in my dash. This is easy to assemble and easy to install. Only took me about an hour from start to finish.
